Self censorship
There is nowhere I can write online and feel completely comfortable, including here.
I see kids in libraries in their teens, happily posting on Beebo or Facebook or whatever catches their fancy. And all I can think is kid you know that’s forever right? Please please please don’t use your real name.
Even nameless blogs aren’t entirely unknown.
If I were at all academically minded (totally not) I would do some kind of thesis on the concept of privacy with 13-18 year olds. It fascinates me that they seemingly overwhelmingly are aware but just don’t care that much.
Whereas you’ll have to pry my Moleskine from my cold dead hands.
