The online fonds |
While completing my graduate degree in archival studies, I felt an urge to collect my personal online fonds for the curious. In essence, everything I post here is imbued with meaning for me. Producer James B. Harris on working with with Kubrick:
When we first got together, he said: “We should never have a falling out and we should never have any kind of dispute that reaches an impasse because we’re both intelligent, we’re both articulate and one should be able to convince the other. If both people are intelligent they should be able to buy the other’s argument if it’s on the right track.”
I’ve felt the tug of these words since I first read them twelve years ago in Peter Bogdanovich’s obituary of Kubrick for the New York Times—on those occasions when I’ve been challenged by a particularly complicated but worthwhile friendship.
If it’s within your power to do so, fight for the people you love, not with them.
